Dear friends of the Collective,
Although fall is upon us, cycling season is still going strong here in Green Bay. And, thanks to your support, GBBC has seen an extra busy season this year! Since the Give BIG Green Bay event in February, we’ve launched our Mobile Bike Repair, grown our Earn-a-Bike program, and continued planning to move into a bigger shop. We couldn’t have done all this without you, and celebrations are in order. But, with even more exciting events on the horizon, we’ve decided to postpone the annual Bike Banquet until April (when we’ve historically held Bike Banquets!). This date will give us some additional time to plan an even more awesome season opener, and we hope you’ll be as excited as we are kick off 2023’s cycling season.
That said, we still have plenty of fun cycling events planned for the Green Bay community to close out the season. Read on for details!
As part of a national initiative to promote healthy activities, Mayor Mayor Eric Genrich, the City of Green Bay, and the Green Bay Bicycle Collective are teaming up to keep our community moving. In doing so, the city hopes to help prevent issues commonly correlated with lower rates of physical activity, such as high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.
With a host of benefits for both your body and mind, cycling is the perfect way to boost health in our community. According to healthline and Cycling Weekly, bicycling can boost your immune system, reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, strengthen your leg muscles, enhance your mood, and improve posture, balance, and coordination—all in a way that has a low impact on your joints.
Whether you want to come out for the health benefits or just have a good time on two wheels, we hope to see you there!

Biking is certainly important for your health, but we’d be lying if we said we never indulge in the sweets local Green Bay shops have to offer. So, what better way to sample Green Bay’s sweetest treats than by bike (and on Sweetest Day)?
Join us for GBBC’s annual Chocolate Ride Saturday, October 15 to hit up a few of the classic stops—Seroogy’s, Kavarna, and Beerntsens Candies—and some surprise ones, too. We’ll also have a skid contest and some other fun activities, so stay tuned for more details!
We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming rides (and again at Bike Banquet in spring!). If you’re interested in helping sponsor an event or donating to help us find a forever home for our shop, reach out to us for more information. And, don’t forget to keep up with us on Facebook and Instagram for more details.
Thank you again for your support this year, and keep on cycling!
